Cultural Connections

In the summer of 1966, African-American demonstrators marched through all-white neighborhoods in Chicago. The resulted was an open-housing agreement with the city, and the Chicago Conference on Religion and Race helped African-American families move to predominately white neighborhoods like the one depicted in Rockwell’s illustration for “Look” magazine.
